Bringing Funny Back

Art by: Art Baltazar
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: June 4, 2014

Tiny Titans are everything I love about comics.  It's laughing out loud funny, cute and just makes you feel so warm and fuzzy inside.  What's even better, it's family-friendly fun.  Yep, no arm removing anywhere in sight.  It seems that a good book doesn't have to be dark and gritty.  I thought that was something DC Comics had forgotten.

Art Baltazar and Franco make Tiny Titans a joy for all.  The younger ones get a cute introduction to DC characters in little adventures that they can wrap their minds and hearts around.  I have five boys who love Teen Titans Go! and Batman: The Brave and the Bold, but aren't all interested in reading the New 52.  I had them read Tiny Titans and they all loved it.

This book is "family friendly" and that includes the parents as well.  Older readers get to see the characters they love looking all cute and in situations that might be kiddy, but fit their characters just right.  Beast Boy, Robin, and Raven are my favorites this issue.  A special shout out to the intro page with all the characters portraits and names.  My wife even said that looked neat.  She never said that about any other comic I've reviewed.

Art Baltazar's art fits the joyous story to a tee.  It's youthful in it's exuberance and just fun to look at. Seriously, if you look at this book without smiling, you have no soul.

Bits and Pieces:

Tiny Titans: Back to the Treehouse #1 is just plain fun.  If you have young ones you want to get into reading comics, grab this right away.  If you just love good fun, get this comic.  It will remind you that good comics don't need blood and gore to be good.
