Vampires 2: The New Batch
Last month in Pandora we took the time to watch some of Pandora's flashbacks and see Marcus Severin and her's greatest hits throughout time. Once we got that out of the way though, we jumped right into Pandora casting a spell over Marcus's dead body so that he'll be kept from heaven and resurrected into a boy being born at that moment. All it makes me think of is how many times Pandora has kidnapped a child from it's parents just because that child happened to be her old dead friend. In the end after all the hoodoo we find out that Baltimore is on the verge of a vampire apocalypse and Pandora joins forces with Agent Kincaid and Giganta to take down the undead menace. Let's see if starting a new story was the best plan for a final issue.
Explain It!:
While the end of last issue made it feel as if the whole city of Baltimore would become a vampire smorgasbord, instead here we see that the action is limited to a single building. So yeah, not as epic.
The majority of the comic just deals with Pandora killing vampires and going after one that turns into mist. Eventually after the vampire gets away we see that I, Vampire star Andrew Bennett has come to Maryland to personally take care of the vampire problem. I've said for awhile to friends and family that if you stab someone in the heart and they die, then they were obviously a vampire. Now in response to my vampire detection skills, I've been called an idiot, but apparently I'm not alone in my ways of figuring out who's a vampire and who isn't because Andrew Bennett just straight up stabs Pandora in the heart without asking any questions. Now here's the real problem with Andrew Bennett and my tactics. What do you do when the thing doesn't die? So Andrew Bennett and Pandora fight until our resident vampire hunter is satisfied that our mother of monsters isn't a vampire. Instead of fighting the two come across a vampire spider creature that keeps it's victims in webs and before it can make a meal out of Pandora, she feeds it the barrel of her gun to keep it back. After a little bit of clean up the majority of the vampires are destroyed, Andrew Bennett leaves and Agent Kincaid offers Giganta and Pandora a place within SHADE to do some good. Pandora seems to go for the idea, even though she's supposed to go on adventures with Question and Phantom Stranger in October, so I don't know where she'll find the time.

Bits and Pieces:
This wasn't much of a final issue. I found it strange that Ray Fawkes started a new story line last issue when all it could do is lead to a flat story about simply killing vampires and really not feeling like it's bridging a gap between this series and Trinity of Sin in October. This was a fun series, but like this issue it suffered from no real direction. Hopefully with Question and Phantom Stranger at her side in the future, the mother of monsters will find a way to continue in comics.
