Stuff and Maybe Some Things

Last chapter of Arrow Season 2.5, we saw Oliver getting dosed by the new Count Vertigo....... But before he was the new Count Vertigo....... It's a prequel people, you need to follow me here.  So after getting dosed with the prototype to this Count's fear version of the vertigo drug, Oliver has himself one bad trip, where he sees all the people that he's let down in the past and enemies that he wasn't able to stop before they caused serious damage.  It was pretty much a bad time for Oliver, but not all was lost, it seems that Canary is back in Starling City and maybe she can put Oliver down before he hurts himself or others........ Speaking of others, what the hell happened to Diggle?  He should have been right behind Oliver before he started wigging out.  Let's find out.

Explain It!:

Our chapter begins with me getting the answer to my Diggle question.  We see Canary bringing a very bruised and beaten Diggle back to.......... What are we calling Arrow's HQ?  Verdant.......Underneath Verdant........ The Arrow Cave?  Fuck it, I'm going with Arrow Cave.  So Canary brings Diggle back to the Arrow Cave and we find out that the reason we didn't see Diggle in the last chapter is because while Oliver was fighting the ghosts from his past, he was really taking it out on poor Diggle's face.  Now we get back to where we left off at the end of last chapter where Canary goes back out and finds Oliver before he can hurt anyone else or himself..... and the only way to do this is to hurt him severely.

After the knockout kick to the face, Canary brings Oliver back to the Arrow Cave and we all have a nice little sit down where Oliver tells everyone that Clinton Hogue is the new Brother Blood but he's added a religious feel to the persona, so obviously he's attracting nut jobs to follow him.  Since Oliver still has a body full of fear toxin, Canary puts her foot down about him going back out to find Brother Blood and tells him to get some sleep and when he's better, they'll all go take him down.  Well alright, that clears everyone's agendas for the night, so Canary takes off her mask and visits her father in the hospital and man if Laurel didn't have enough to feel jealous about with her sister, her father after being in a coma for weeks wakes up to greet his favorite daughter.

I'd be pissed, but I think Laurel's used to it by now.  Felicity with her night off decides to go home and get some sleep, but some of Brother Blood's followers are there and seeing as he's still pissed about Diggle and Felicity kidnapping and interrogating him, I don't think Felicity is going to have a nice night after all.

In the end we jump to our Suicide Squad back up, where we've been finding out all this new and exciting information about the kind of mission Task Force X is going to go on when they go after the terrorist leader in Kahndaq, but here we see Deadshot and Bronze Tiger fight some dudes in a training exercise........ That is all.

After reading the last chapter of Arrow Season 2.5, I figured that going into this would be something exciting and special with Oliver being dosed up with the fear toxin for the first time, but for all my excitement the situation was resolved easily and nothing really happened in this chapter at all............ except for the writers over using Felicity's talking to herself shtick.  So even with Joe Bennett's ability to draw these characters perfectly, it wasn't enough to make me want to recommend this issue to anyone.  The story was boring all we had was Oliver not being crazy anymore, Detective Lance waking up and people being in Felicity's apartment and our Suicide Squad backup was the worst there's been so far.  I even hated the way Deadshot's jerk off face looked.  So as of right now I'm saying forget this issue and wait for the next because it can't be as boring as this.

Bits and Pieces:

With this chapter of Arrow we were presented with a story where nothing really happened and the things that did happen were boring as hell.  Definitely not a chapter of this series to gain readers and possibly one to lose the ones it had.  A boring story with a boring backup but I'll remain hopeful that the next chapter will put us back on track.

4/10
